I hate it when indoor plumming goes wonky
Feb. 8th, 2009 07:48 pmI woke up with a headache, and it went downhill from there.
I was woken this morning by a child saying "Mom the toilet is leaking". Sure thing, water is pouring out the shutoff valve. My son had put an ice cream bucket under the leak and helped me clean up some of the water. Well the ice cream bucket was filling very quickly so I had my daughter climb under the trailer and shut off the water to the whole house. Then since my hubby is at work all day I called my brother in law. Scott came over and fiddled with it a bit and we went in search of replacement parts. The hardware store in town was closed so we headed north on the highway. We were there for some time while he tried to figure out what would make everything work. Got home and he tinkered with it for a long time, but after several tries called it and went home.
My hubby called on his way home from work and he is going to try to stop at the store and get the right parts. Apparently he knew it was starting to leak and was going to fix it later this week... Oh and if Scott and I had looked at the toilet in the master bedroom we would have know just what part to buy since Shawn replaced that valve a year ago. I even remember seeing it at the store...
Well cross your fingers for me that Shawn gets to the store before they close in 10 min so I can have water tonight.
Oh and work called asking a question I had no idea how to answer while I was at the grocery store trying to find something for supper that didn't need water to cook.
