The Japanese garb is going to have to wait. I'm still trying to figure out how/what I want anyway.

Asa needs a new under dress for her Viking garb and I have to rework the straps on her overdress since her brooches came today. She got them as a present from me because she registered her SCA name.

I am making myself a linen headdress and viking apron dress. Asa refuses to wear a headdress.

Hopefully all the above can get completed before Ages of War where both her and I are teaching classes.

Oh! And 2 pairs of turn shoes.

Only then can the Japanese garb orgy fun begin.

I was reading someones LJ and they were talking about Kumihimo, which I have never tried and I said I would like to learn.

At least A&S wise.  I haven't done much but I just find everything so interesting.

It all started when (it seems anyway) everyone who did neato A&S stuff that we used to display on our table during demos.. moved away.
I was appalled that all we had at demos after that was cool armor, but nothing showing the varied arts and sciences enjoyed by us in the SCA.   There is more to the SCA than fighting!  Not that there is anything wrong with fighting or people who only want to fight.

So I did some looking around on websites and got some books and figured out how to do a few things.  I also took several different classes at events.  In the end I managed to produce several very beginners sort of items.  But at least the arts were now represented at our demo table.

I've done some embroidery, blackwork, beading, tablet weaving, viking chain knitting, fingerloop braiding, spinning, whipcording., and other stuff I cannot remember.   All stuff I never had any interest in and never thought I would be able to do.
